I really don‘t like giving bad ratings and reviews, but in this case I have no other choice.
I
got this book from NetGalley in July, 2018… but I MANAGED to finish it
only in March, 2019. I never quit any books, so I literally tortured
myself with this book, because I wanted to finish it. Every time I
planned to read few more pages, I was like: “Come on, Dorian, read few
more pages, move forward, so you will get closer to the ending”. FINALLY
IT’S OVER!
What made me to write such a bad review? EVERYTHING.
It was beyond boredom. There was almost no history of this Avian
society, no stories of characters or basically almost no details about
these creatures: how long they live, where do they come from, are they
immortal and etc. A lack of characters. A lack of environment
description. And WHY on Earth this book is listed as BDSM? THERE IS NO
BDSM in this book. It’s like the author NEVER saw WHAT IS REAL BDSM.
*facepalm* Even 50 Shades of Grey has more BDSM elements than this book.
Sex scenes were not causing me any feelings. As we say in Lithuania:
it’s a “dry” writing. It seemed this book is unfinished and the author
could work much more on it.
And so that’s it. I want to forget I
read it and move on. I truly hate to write bad reviews, but I must be
honest. To say truth… I expect a lot from this book, but it greatly
disappointed me…
