Anne Rice "Prince Lestat"

 When I finished reading Vampire Chronicles, I thought „what I‘m going to do now? “. I started reading other books of Anne Rice, but nothing was as good as Vampire Chronicles. (Well, Mayfair Witches have my heart)The day I saw Anne stated that there will be new book in series, I felt like my life regained meaning again.
And so, after so many months of waiting, I could open this new book. „Prince Lestat“. Still fresh, from United Kingdom, still good smell of ink and new paper, huge and heavy. As soon as I took my package in hands at post office, I ripped of card box like crazy and with wide eyes touched the cover. I believe my eyes were shining like stars that moment. I kissed the book and rushed home to start reading. (Actually I started reading while walking)

From the first word I saw that Anne is back to her good old style. (Wolves weren‘t her style according to me) Of course, I first looked at the back of characters‘ list and got stunned by how many new ones appeared. Immediately I started re-drawing family tree of vampires. (I‘m obsessed with making family trees)
Immediately I noticed that Anne used science to explain all vampire world. Introducing Fareed as a vampire scientist. And it is amazing how she put science stuff in her book, technologies and etc. And only science in her book, so many things changed about all series. So many things happened. Since I mentioned in beginning, I will be spoiling and so I hope everybody who read this already finished this book and know everything. So, creating Viktor...was something I couldn‘t expect to happen. Also revealing secret of Talamasca FINALLY! Now I can live peacefully knowing who and why it was created. Another things that shocked me: Marius‘s maker, Magnus, Allesandra, the destiny of Maharet and Khayman.... I barely could make myself not to scream what happened... And Lestat‘s cruelty... So many things happened that I had to stop reading and start breathing again, to clear my mind and emotions. But Armand... as Rhoshamandes said he would rather kill him. I agree with Rhoshamandes. I never liked Armand and never will. Glad he had only small role in this book. I couldn‘t bare reading more about him. I was happy Anne created so many new characters, introduced with their stories and life. She filled blank spots in vampire history.

And the true secret of a whole book... I expected this to happen. I truly wished this to happen and Anne made it reality. The whole idea of book is amazing! After 10 books when she wrote everything she ever wanted to write, she still was inspired with new idea of This. „Prince Lestat“ revives Vampire Chronicles. A new era. New starting. New adventures. I feel that there must be AT LEAST one more book... I kind of feel that the secret of physical ghosts must be revealed and I kind of feel Amel should be brought as physical being into this world. But that‘s just my hypothesis. It‘s what I imagine it should continue. If it ever will. On the other hand, last chapter seems like revealing the next book… but it was like…I don’t know. This last chapter was “not in place”. Well… At the end I must say simply and clearly: IT WAS BEST BOOK OF ANNE RICE SO FAR!

 Still full of excitement... Hard to write a review...

First of all, I am happy I have finished reading all "Mayfair witches" series. After "Vampire Chronicles" I thought that "Mayfair witches" won't be so good and I'll be disappointed... BUT... I wasn't. All these three books were as good as Vampire Chronicles. Anne Rice is my favorite author, I'm fascinated how she created such families, their histories, family trees and everything else. And I just love when she mixes real history with her fiction, it's like..."revealing truth of hidden historical facts".

Her characters are brilliant. They all remind me of some people I know, or of myself. In this book I mostly was amazed by Ashlar. I must say, my heart was touched by every single part about dolls. I even did notes of some quotes. The way author writes about dolls, makes me so...I don't know..very touched. Dolls for me are my whole life, my children, my family...and when I found these scenes about dolls in this book, I had to read few times everything again to get stuck in my mind. Parts about dolls- were my favorite. It's like her thoughts came out of my mind. Anne Rice is a brilliant author, because she can touch every single reader's heart.

I wish there would be more books about this family of witches. It's such a story that you want to know more and more. Since I'm very interested in genealogy, I am trying to make a family tree of these witches. All this genealogy thing in these books made me so excited!

Linda Urbach "Ponios Bovari duktė"

 

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 

  I was overwhelmed by this book. It's still hard to write a review of this book because I still live with it.
When I started reading it, I thought it will be just aregular love story, but I was so wrong. I couldn't put it down so easily. I finished it in 10 days because it took my heart. I was crying, laughing and blushing while reading. I cannot believe it this book was standing on my shelf for over a year and I forgot to read it. It fascinated me same as the original "Madame Bovary". It's a heartbreaking story with a happy end. I wish such stories could happen in reality, but, alas, it's just a book.
I can say it was a book I was looking to read all my life. Author perfectly showed Victorian times in Paris. Since I love myself to make Victorian style clothes- it was a very touching book. I will recommend it to everybody who loves dramatic love stories with happy ends and a lot of sexy details.

D.H. Lawrence "Ledi Čaterli meilužis"

 

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 

  I started reading this book when I was about 15, but I couldn't finish it and left it for later. Only now I could start reading it again and finish.
When I read first chapters, I thought: "So where's sex?". And here it comes! Oh yes. This book made me very happy. Sex scenes are written in very sensual words, not some dirty porn, but very sensitive and beautiful erotica. I can say it's very romantic book, in all means.
If to rate whole book, some parts are boring. It has some...deep melancholy. You can feel sadness of main characters, sad life of small English town. But I actually liked it. This sadness fit me. I also loved writing style, very simple and sensual. I love all love stories, no matter how banal they are. I believe my favorite character is gamekeeper. He is "deepest" character in the book. His life and thoughts seemed close to my own, except about money and women. Lady Chatterley reminded me of my one friend.
I actually don't know how much to rate this book. It's hard to decide... That I enjoyed reading it, it's obvious. I finished it in 9 days, and it's very short time for me. It means I was all into this book. Let it be 5 stars! It's worth it for all hot feelings and shivers in gave me.

Sigmund Freud "Psichoanalizės įvadas"

 

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 

  I have always been interested in Freud. So happy got this book. I actually like his theories. Even if it's old stuff already, but psychoanalysis is still the same in nowadays. It's a book that reveals all secrets of psychiatrists. After reading this book- forget all psychiatrists. It won't be possible to do any psychoanalysis on you, because you know everything from this book and can "fake" everything. One psychologist told me this: if you read such books, you can show yourselves to doctors the way you want to be seen, not who you really are. Same as you find out how all illusionist tricks are done- you cannot be surprised. But if you are interested in psychology- it's great book. I really liked his theory about dreams. Explained me so much about myself.

On the other hand, his view to homosexuality insulted me. Glad this changed since this book was written. But when you take to read such old book- you must understand it will be "old-fashioned". Fiction never change, but science changes every day.

Timur Vermes "Jis ir vėl čia"

 

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 

  I am so happy it was translated in my language. I ran like crazy to bookstore, hugged it and as I bought it, I started reading it like crazy. I even forgot that I was sitting in restaurant and had to eat. I just love this book!!! It was brilliant idea of an author to turn Hitler into comedian. :D

Who says it is bad to make fun of such things: well, GO FIND ANOTHER THINGS TO DO THAN READ THIS BOOK. >_> I think it's awesome to turn everything in different ways. WWII is OVER, PEOPLE! Let's make fun of it as we much as we want. IT'S PAST. STOP LIVING IN THE PAST!! History is to learn from our mistakes and let's do it in funny ways! Who died- so died. They are no longer here. I love myself black humor and I just laugh like crazy reading this book right now. Even more funny after I watched so many Hitler Rants parodies on youtube. :D I think this book should be turned into a movie! I knew about this book when my German friend told me about it, I immediately found it in English and ordered, started reading and WOW, it was translated into Lithuanian! I just had to get second copy. :3 I also took one more copy for that German friend. She will be so happy to receive it for her birthday in other language.

I finished this book and my opinion doesn't change. It is really great book. And with happy ending. It is always interesting for me to read a fictional book about real historical personalities, especially if they return in our times.

Hidekadzi Himaruya "Hetalia: Axis Powers. 4 volume"

 

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 

 I have an Italian version, but since it took me long hours trying to translate it, my German friend sent me a German edition, which she translated. I enjoyed every single page of this volume. Since I'm huge fan of Hetalia (fan number one), it was awesome evening to read this manga, which I got from my friend as birthday present. I also knew a lot of new stuff about countries and history. In a funny way.

Melvin Burgess :Liepsnojanti Iza"

 

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 

As a huge fan of Melvin Burgess I was very happy to get another book to read. It was an incredible story of a witch. In some parts it made me cry and made me scared. This book was full of fire. A lot of about this fire. I'm myself also terrified of fire, so reading this book made me scared and really touched my soul. It touched me personally.
I believe it's one of my favorite books now. Touching story. You must be heartless if such story doesn't give you any feelings.

Hamid Peseschkian, Connie Voigt "Energijos vampyrai. Kaip su jais elgtis?"

 Since I'm myself a psi-vampire, I was very glad to find a book which I could read about who I'm. I found in this book types of psi-vampires I haven't find anywhere. I even found what types of psi-vampires my family members are. It was really interesting to read this book.

Anne Rice "Vilko dovana"

  I read a lot of reviews how bad this book is. But I finally have read it by myself to make my own opinion. And I strongly disagree with the ones who says it's bad.

I give five stars because I really liked plot of story. Anne Rice changed my opinion about many things in life. So she did same with werewolves. I can confess I hated werewolves, thought they were just "stupid dogs", but this book changed my opinion. Anne Rice showed these mythical creatures in other spotlight. As loving creatures with their own story and philosophy of life. She showed they aren't some heartless beasts. Anne as always turned some banal thing into something magical.

Well, first half of book was...quite boring. But another half was amazing! In the end of book Anne came back to her incredible story telling and revealing secrets. I can say I usually "know" how book gonna end, but this time I had no idea it will end so good.

So, in the conclusion I must say it wasn't as bad as people were reviewing everywhere, I wasn't disappointed. It is good book, interesting plot. But...one "but", this book doesn't have that charm Anne had in Vampires Chronicles. It's just...something's missing... Something is gone... But of course, it's different story, different plot. I can feel this book is very mature, calm. There are action scenes, but in all and all, it's calm book, relaxing. This type of book that you can just read and enjoy simple reading.

Any way, I enjoyed every single page of this book. In 2014 March 6th it was translated and published in Lithuanian, so I got that book. Maybe it is because Lithuanian editions are bad and I really hate reading in my native language... But any way, I never believe what people review, I always read books and make my own opinion. Five stars and that's it. Good book for me.

Lisi Harrison "Back and Deader than Ever"

  I think is my favorite book of this serie. The main thing why I liked it so much, because of Draculaura's and her father's relationship. It kind of reminded me of my own family... And the happy ending! Beautiful.

Anne Rice "Lasher"

 

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 

  An incredible masterpiece as always. A stunning story you cannot put down so easily. I loved every single page of this book. It took me into it's own world and locked forever. It's hard to write this review since I just finished reading and my feelings are still fresh. It is incredible talent to create such thrilling story.
What else can I say? It made me think of many things in life: life, death, birth, love, hate... It inspired me a lot.

Lisi Harrison "Vilką kojos gelbsti"

 Not sure what to say... It was good book. I really loved it. When I read first book, I thought "Oh...again...love, boyfriends..." But I think I got used to such things. Glad that other characters were mentioned FINALLY. And I liked that this serie of books have a lot of action, it makes me read faster and want to read next and next chapter to know how this will end.
Now I am waiting for 4th book to come from England that I could read and know how everything ended.

 Knygoje pateikta juodosios magijos istorija įvairiose kultūrose ir specialūs ritualai. Kai kurie iš jų gan sunkiai įvykdomi ar ne neįmanoma (jei neturi žydiško kraujo), tačiau dauguma gan paprasti. Tik visada reikia nepamiršti, kad tokios magijos negalima naudoti "šiaip kažkam atkeršyti ar t.t.". Tai itin stiprūs burtai, kurie dažniausiai išsipildys, bet ne visada tokiu būdu kokio nori...

Tai turbūt labiausiai skaitoma mano knyga šitoje lentynoje, nes juodoji magija- sritis, kuria itin domiuosi. Tačiau ją naudoju tik itin išskirtiniais atvejais, nes vėliau už rezultatus tenka labai skaudžiai susimokėti. Todėl jos imuosi tik tuo atveju jei esu pasirengęs viską paaukoti dėl to ko trokštu. Daug kas yra manęs prašęs pasiskolinti šitą knygą, bet niekada niekam neleidžiu jos liesti. Aš toks jau gimiau. Bet kai manęs kai kurie žmonės prašo skolinti tokias knygas, nieko kito negaliu atsakyti tik: "Nekišk nagų prie to apie ką nieko nesupranti".

 This part was better than first book. It was full of intrigues. Now I wish to read next book because this book ended very interesting way, I want to know what happened next.

Lisi Harrison "Monstrų vidurinė"

  I gave 4 stars because of common teens' love story.
First I got interested in these dolls. Now I cannot stop buying new ones. Next, I watched all cartoons, and now decided to read books.
So, I noticed that people who read these books wrote that they are full of sexual content. Well, yes, but not that much. Actually this serie is marked as YOUNG ADULTS FICTION, so I don't understand why moms read these books to little girls... It is obviously for teens and young adults, about boys, dating, love and school life.
Well, since I just wanted to read some easy book, I was contented. I liked the idea of book, romance and just easy reading.
